The winter season hosts various celebrations linked mostly to saints.

For example: In January, people gather around bonfires in honor of Saints Antón and Sebastián, a pig is slaughtered and dinner served afterwards using products from the slaughter. In February, the “Fiesta de las Mujeres” (Women’s Party/Festival), is celebrated for St. Blas and St. Águeda; on this night men are required to follow directions from all females. On October 12th, the “Fiesta del Pilar” (patroness saint of Spain), is celebrated with folk bands and traditional regional clothing. St. Jorge, patron saint of Aragón, (April 23rd)…
